I really believe we don't know the half of what goes on around us... we are spoonfed select news by the British press and media, and I bet the majority of you don't know about Nathan Tomlinson. If you do, please highlight this case. If not, Nathan went missing on the 17th December 2010, the same day as Joanna Yeates. Now, while Miss Yeates most certainly deserves the coverage given, it's grossly unfair that Nathan's case has not warranted much coverage at all.
I wonder who made the decision to run with the Joanna Yeates story? And why do the press pack always follow suit like snivelling, little lemmings? I mean, we all know that it's not the news they report that's important to these people. They're only interested in the 20-something, pretty, blonde professional from Bristol selling more papers and gaining more viewers than the 20-something lad from Stockport. Doesn't make one person's case more or less important. One thing is consistent with these cases, the majority of missing people are all loved and missed by their family and friends, they are all desperately wanted back home, safe and sound.
Sadly, Joanna's disappearance has turned into a murder investigation, and I wish a speedy conclusion to the case. During the period that Joanna was missing, her landlord was arrested and questioned. The media frenzy went into overdrive, delved into this individual's private life and broadcast it for the world to see, read and hear. Now whether the man is guilty or not we don't know as no charges have been made. It was a vile attempt to grab headlines with the hack fraternity almost visibly frothing at the mouth. Wasted column inches and rolling news that could have been devoted to more important news.
So why hasn't Nathan's case been highlighted anywhere other than the odd report in the local news? Why aren't Sky rolling it out on the ticker tape? Where is the Crimewatch reconstruction - easy to do as there is extensive CCTV footage of him in Manchester, his steps are easily traced. In fact, why don't they just show the original footage? Nope? So it's left to family, friends and strangers to try and pass the word.
"It is believed that Nathan left the Mitre Bar, walked past Manchester Cathedral and ended up on Chapel Street.
A bus driver on Chapel Street recalls that at about 10.25pm on Friday 17 December 2010, a man asked him how he could get home to Stockport.
The driver explained that he could to to Piccadilly and get on a train from there. Police believe that this was Nathan."
The CCTV sequence of events compiled by officers shows him getting off the bus. Nathan could then have turned onto Adelphi Street by the University of Salford and then crossed a bridge that goes over the River Irwell."
There have been no sightings of Nathan after this point. This is such a sad case, a young man with a great future ahead of him.
The haunting footage of Nathan's last movements can be viewed here in an article given by his family. It saddens me deeply to watch, Nathan was lost and just trying to find his way home.

A tragic end to the search, Nathan has been found. My thoughts and condolences go out to all of Nathan's family and friends at this very sad time. Not the outcome we had all hoped for.
