The Warped Minds of the McCanns??

I'm really intrigued by the latest statement from the Madeleine Fund, released in response to Jim Gamble's resignation from CEOP.  They say that they found the news 'saddening'...  Saddening?  Why on earth would they find it saddening?

It's been common knowledge for some time that Mr Gamble was eager to relieve his position at CEOP and be employed elsewhere, so devoted to the job and all the children, was he.  It seems that his resignation was just something waiting to happen.

But let's go back to basics - the McCanns have a missing child, Madeleine McCann whom they claim was abducted.  CEOP have been involved with the 'search' for over 3 years, even during the time that Mr McCann claims that 'no law enforcement agency were actively looking'.  Have they helped find Madeleine?  No, they haven't - she is still missing.  Not even the age enhanced image of a 7 year old Madeleine prompted any leads.

In the eyes of the parents of a missing child - massive fail.

Who would blame any parent for thinking this is absolutely, utterly desperate, our little girl is still missing?   What parent would be saddened by Jim Gamble's resignation - wouldn't you be glad to see the back of him and eagerly await 'new blood' there at the top to try a new approach with fresh ideas?

Wouldn't you be over the moon that the government had set up a new initiative which would shake up the whole organisation and would involve specialists in fields such as kidnapping and child trafficking?  After all, if you think your daughter has been abducted, these are the people you want on the job.

Think about the renewed hope it would give right-thinking parents.  Can Jim Gamble still offer this to the McCanns after all these years.

Saddened... and too busy latching onto other causes or championing crusades for all the other children to distract from the fact that where they are today is because of their own actions.

This is not about all the other children... this should be about their daughter and no-one else.

"In this challenging economic climate, we urge the Government to remember the value of our children and the importance of the invaluable work which is necessary to protect children against the devastating crimes of child abduction and exploitation."

What callous audacity and cheek, never mind the fact that it is directed at a man who is grieving the loss of his young son.

They should attempt to get their own house in order before brazenly telling the world how our children should be valued and looked after.  It smacks of nothing but ignorance and hypocrisy, which is something I think we've all come to expect...

  3. Thank you for your very pertinent post. You have put into words the fustration that most of us who have followed this case from the beginning feel. Do they really lack the insight to appreciate how inapropriate their comments are in view of their past actions ?

  4. Well I don't think it's so much a lack of insight, I get the impression that they just don't care. It is frustrating, I agree. Thanks for reading and your comment.

  5. An excellent post, what you say is true.

But you have to remember the McCanns think that they control everything- just as they have controlled the Portuguese police. They forced their version/versions (because it keeps changing) of events down theirs and anyone else's throat who was unfortunate to come within two feet of them. They think they can influence the government as to what policies they should pursue.

This is Gerry's new "push" - he has gone GLOBAL on the internet so he can span the world with Madeleine"s disappearance and gain sympathy from every corner of the world. Plus of course this means also DONATIONS as well. think of it, it is massive, millions and millions of people. For Gerry this equates to millions and millions of £'s.

It stands to reason that"s why he chose the photo he did. Without being cruel to other missing children, in the picture he gave to the Police she is quite simply beautiful. (I think every child has this moment when they look simply gorgeous). But this wasn't an up-to-date picture of Madeleine - she was much younger then.

Gerry's is no fool - he said didn't he that he had a new agenda - always thinking ahead. Making arrangements for her anniversary - when surely he couldn't know she would be still missing.

What we are seeing here is Gerry's EGO - his controlling side of his character. He THINKS he controls the WORLD.

Wish Dr. Roberts would hurry up and say something about this. Does anyone know what he"s doing over on mccannfiles.?

  7. Angelique,
The photo the PJ was given firstly isn't of a beautiful Madeleine (this photo is on the cover of Gonçalo Amaral's book). Later, media were provided with photographs where you could hardly recognize Madeleine (compared to the photo with the tennis balls). The younger and more beautiful she looked, the better for them as victims.
GMC thought he had a good chance to control the public opinion. Nobody did it before him. This was possible only if the body was never to be found. He made sure it wouldn't.

  9. Does anyone else ,like me, think that the vile duo are going to join forces with Gamble to start a "child protection" charity? I think somethings afoot ,Maybe Im being paranoid but I have a gut feeling that it will "Kate/Gerry mc Cann ,Ambassadors for children"

I think it's definitely plausible. I think if there is nowhere else for Gamble to go to earn vast amounts of money to which he has become accustomed, he may well end up with the Mccanns. They will use him of course, but he also is a man who likes to have complete control so there could be some difficulty in this respect - they seem very similar with regard to personality - narcissistic, ego inflated. He likes to play with other people's money as well.

  11. does anyone else remember not long after maddie went missing the mccs were talking about changing their careers ...to look for missing children ....this caused outrage on the net[like look for your own]..what would it be now we have three years experience...they have never looked for maddie...never been responsible for their own actions...all they have thought of is money..like the bucket from the off in the reception...the planing of a big concert months ahead...the portuguese secrecy law suited them down to the ground...the money was rolling in and they kept silent...now the pot is almost empty and maybe this in there warped minds will be the time they again try and take up a career in looking for missing children...yet they never looked for maddie...they know she will never be found ..but money still can be that is all they have ever looked for...imo all maddie is now to them is an open cheque book a business a copyright......... they say money is the root of all evil...evil is what they are...lets hope their greed will be there downfall...instead of the reward of what they did to maddie....

  12. Jim Gamble might be a big-headed idiot, but I don't think he is fool enough to tie himself any more closely to the negligent parents of a missing child. Even Gamble couldn't present the McCanns as people who protect children, given the fact that they failed utterly to take even the most basic measures to protect their own AND Kate McCann has insisted she is a responsible parent. If being a responsible parents includes drinking in a bar every night of your holiday while your children lie alone in your apartment with a door left unlocked, then I'm Santa Claus. The ordinary man in the street must wonder how on earth they escaped prosecution for their reckless disregard of the safety of their children. If they ever dared to start a charity posing as child safety advocates they could expect a very rough ride indeed. That would be a step too far into hypocrisy and would outrage other parents who actually do look after their children.

  13. I was watching a video of John McCann from 9th May 2007 (when he had just got back from PDL) and he says that " we think we can work with them", meaning the Police as if the McCanns were in charge.
The Police should have told John McCann and his family to shut his mouth and leave it to them.

"we think we can work with them" - yes, the arrogance of the man.

    Totally, totally unbelievable!
